     Committed to holistic  care, the Department provides rigorous training for students to develop critical insights and compassion along the process they acquire quintessential knowledge and skills to become nursing professionals. The curriculum is intended to systematically familiarize the students with variant dimensions of nursing practice, inclusive of professional nursing expertise, practical skills, and attitude toward the career. We make every effort to equip our students with strengths in general clinical skills, basic biomedical science, critical thinking and reasoning, communication and teamwork capability, accountability, ethics, caring for the patients and their family, and life-long learning capabilities, in the hope that our graduates may become the most reliable and trustworthy primary nursing professionals.

     Based on the solid professional training and practice sessions offered at present, the Department simultaneously integrates Dr. Mackay’s spirit of selfless dedication into the curriculum, promotes computation of teaching resources, makes timely adjustments responsive to the College’s development and societal changes, and encourages research and reforms in regard to nursing education, in the hope that it continues to remain an indexical institute of nursing education of this country.

 

        The Department’s prospects for the immediate future include:

  1. Developing quality nursing education at junior college level, with due consideration of recent developments of healthcare industries and major directions undertaken by national policies.
  2. Achieving the lead among junior colleges across the country, supported by the Department’s excellent teaching faculty and learning facilities.
  3. Applying academic findings to enhance practical nursing care as well as pedagogical development of the field.
  4. Increasing participation in community service, in order to promote public health and substantiate community healthcare network.
